Odenplan in STHLM is an extremely interesting and complex place seen from a social perspective with a wide variety of business owners of information, interests and property formation both above and below ground. At Swedish Construction Services, BIMformation has commissioned this function at Coclass to test Coclass’s function as a carrier of information in the creation of an uninterrupted flow of information during all stages of a building’s life cycle.
BIMformation has been helpful in the case study by reporting and implementing Coclass in object-based databases and environments and visualizing this data with the help of BIM objects as the bearer of the information. In the project we have verified that coclass is an appropriate information carrier in the digital environment for filtering both geometries and degrees of determination and components, but also concerning more abstract objects such as different areas of responsibility, function, version etc.
Together and with the help of Infomation Experience AB, we have also taken the BIM step further and visualized Odenplan with point clouds, GIS, AR and cloud solutions in ways that are, to say the least, innovative. Together with file formats such as IFC, Coclass enables the management of management data through both proprietary digital solutions and open, which also creates a huge potential for financial savings in the billion class for all players in society. Other important aspects of information management can also be verified with coclass such as accuracy, traceability, accessibility and security.
